Job Details:

    The primary purpose of the Physical Therapist position is to provide direct patient care to individuals with physical disabilities and/or functional limitations in clinic, inpatient, outpatient, and outreach programs. Plans therapy programs, directs and assists patients in exercises and use of wheelchairs and other devices, and evaluates patient progress. Educates patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods. Leads the work of and serves as a resource for other therapists.

    1. Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science in Physical Therapy required.

    2. Current Physical Therapy License in the State of Idaho required.

    This position is located at the Kootenai Health Rehabilitation satellite facility

    location; Riverstone, Coeur d'Alene.

    The ideal candidate will be a great team player, with the needs of the Kootenai Health Rehabilitation and it's patients in the forefront. They will be skilled in manual therapy and orthopedics. They will be willing to share patient care with a PTA, and work with the team at Riverstone to meet patient needs. They will be a good communicator and will collaborate with the full team of rehabilitation professionals within Kootenai Health. They will be somewhat flexible in their hours worked to cover for emergencies.


    • On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift.
    • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
    • Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials.
    • Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.
    • Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.


    • Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
    • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
