  • Kootenai Health is seeking a team oriented and safety minded Echocardiographer to perform quality echocardiograms in accordance with established departmental procedures and protocols.

    Essential duties include but are not limited to:

    • Perform diagnostic Adult Echocardiograms on inpatients and outpatients.
    • Be able to perform, or willing to learn, TEE and Pediatric Echocardiography
    • Be comfortable in CVOR & Interventional Lab settings
    • Participate in weekend, weekday, and holiday call rotation, being able to comply with 30 minute response time requirement
    • Be an engaged member of a team of medical professionals

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.   • Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, from a college or technical school in Echocardiography or; experience and training necessary for designation of "Registry Eligible" in Echocardiography required.
  • RDMS or RCS Registration required within 6mos of hire.
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Additional job requirements - Echo is covered after hours 7 days per week (5:30pm-7am.) Typical call requirements are 1-2 nights per pay period.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    · On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift.

    · Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy equipment.

    · Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials.

    · Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.

    · Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work, and/or take call for all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
