  • The Kootenai Health Foundation is seeking a compassionate philanthropic minded leader to fill the role as Donor Relations Officer. This is a vital position that fills the hearts of those it touches and partners with each and every day.

    The Kootenai Health Foundation is the fundraising arm for Kootenai Health which provides comprehensive medical services to patients in northern Idaho and throughout the Inland Northwest. The Kootenai Health Foundation was established in 1983 and since that time the Foundation has been working to improve patient care by supporting a wide range of needs.

    In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and significantly building major donor relationships. Manages and markets all planned giving programs. You will oversee the preparation and budget for written proposals, information materials, endowment agreements, and other materials needed to secure planned gifts, charitable gift annuities, irrevocable and revocable estate pledges, bequests and estate gifts. You work closely with the Foundation President and staff to develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit steward relationships with new and existing prospects. You will partner with the hospital and foundation Boards, physicians, and hospital executives to secure major, planned and transformational gifts. Serves as the chief technical expert in planned giving, charitable estate gifts and applicable tax law for the foundation and hospital. You maintain the portfolio and secures meaningful face-to-face donor and prospective donor meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
    • 7 years of fundraising experience with progressive responsibility in planned and major gifts and capital campaigns
    • Proven experience with various software and database programs
    • Excellent communication skills-strong writing and presentation skills

    • CSPG certification or Certification by professional associations for Planned Giving and/or other fund raising professional organizations preferred.
