    Job Description

    In addition to all Charge Nurse responsibilities, the Clinical Coordinator, as a key part of the nursing leadership team, has additional responsibility for the unit. Responsibilities include assisting the nurse manager with staffing, Kronos and performance appraisals and participating in 2nd level coaching and/or disciplinary actions with the nurse manager and human resources. May have responsibility for direct reports on a specific unit. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Works under broad supervision. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Licensure in the State of Idaho as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of 2 years' Charge Nurse experience required.
  • BSN or enrollment by December 2017 and continuous progression towards completion of a BSN program by year 2020 required.
  • BLS required from American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or Healthcare Provider Card from the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS required
  • Procedural Sedation, if required by the department
  • Kootenai Health approved professional certification to be obtained within 12 months or when eligibility requirements are met.
  • Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements):

    • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

    · On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift.

    · Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy stretchers and other equipment.

    · Read charts, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials.

    · Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.

    · Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.

    Work Environment:

    · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.

    · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
