    About the OR Department

    Kootenai Health offers a modern, state-of-the-art facility in which Kootenai Clinic's General Surgery and other affiliated surgeons are able to perform a wide variety of specialized surgical procedures. Patients range from those coming to Kootenai for an extended stay for inpatient treatment to those outpatient surgery patients leaving on the same day as their procedures.     Quick Stats

    · Number of Beds - 9

    · Number of Rooms - 6 in the Main OR, and 2 in the CVOR.

    · Number of Staff - 22 RN's,23 Certified Scrub Techs, 2 Designated Charge RN's, 2 Core Technicians.

    · RN to Patient Ratio - 1:1

    · Hours - Main OR 7:00am-7:00pm Mon-Sunday, CVOR 7:00am-7:00pm Mon-Fri.

    Specializations

    About the Circulating RN Job

    As an RN on our team, you will evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care for an assigned patient population. Additionally, you will assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. RNs on our team promote each patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching each patient and their family members to understand patient conditions, medications, and self-care needs.

    Requirements & Minimum Qualifications

    1. Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.

    2. State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho.

    3. BSN or enrollment and continuous progression towards completion of a BSN program. This requirement may only be waived at the Director level.

    4. CCRN, CNOR, or a minimum of 1 year experience in Critical Care, Emergency or OR/PACU required, as applicable.

    5. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

    6. BLS required within 6 months of hire.
